According to the Kübler-Ross model, there exist five Stages of Grief: Denial, Bartering, Depression, Anger and Acceptance. Every person experiences some variation of this after coping with a signifcant loss. GRIEFSCAPES is a concept record loosely based around each stage of Grief, intertwined with themes from a recurring nightmare of Mark Curtis, the one-man artist behind CORPSEWEED. The result is a grim collection of sonic textures and soundscapes that sound and feel like depression, anxiety; like a lucid nightmare.

Corpseweed hails from Boston MA, and characterizes the music as Experimental Metal, although it pulls elements from other genres as well, most notably electronic, jazz and noise.

"Consider this song an introduction to "GRIEFSCAPES." This song was originally intended to be on the album, but I removed it to better help the "flow" of the record. The melodies are largely improvised, to try and capture a vibe, rather than a more structured song. It's kind of inspired by 90's David Bowie, The Caretaker, and Mick Gordon's Killer Instinct stuff (the throat singing, namely). I will release it as a single on streaming services ASAP ahead of the LP. Thanks to everyone who helped with this project."

Lezet was originally a name Igor Jovanovic had in mind for his high school crossover metal band that never came to be, and although the name itself came to be associated with experimental music (and a mattress factory in Macedonia), Igor remained fascinated with the idea of making eclectic/experimental metal, and would occasionally make a metal-oriented track here and there. Almost two years after a great split with Dyslexic Fudgicle, it was time to do another fantastic full-on metal split.
Igor is currently a member of Lezet, Koi Karp, Gid, FiXtion.

Experimental split single from Lezet (Serbia) and Dyslexic Fudgicle (USA).


Lezet is a one-man experimental music project from Serbia with 86 albums released so far from labels throughout the world. He is a self-professed "metalhead trying to do experimental music."

Dyslexic Fudgicle is an experimental metal band currently based in Providence, RI USA. They have since changed their name to "DRUSLAN." However, due to the age of some of the material in this recording, the band chose to release it "posthumously" under the Dyslexic Fudgicle name. "Sourpuss" includes re-worked or unreleased material from the songs "Sourpuss the Larceny Owl," "Jagermonster" and "Osiris" (2005).
