Experiments with recordings of voices reading texts.
Inspired by how silly recordings of myself reading textbook texts in Spanish taken a good while ago actually sounded (the aim was to practice enunciation), I decided to play with those recordings and make use of the musical aspects of language.
It's a continuation of the "Talking Trilogy" of albums (Hum, Histrionics, Utterings). Hope you enjoy it ❤

"Mold 09” is Øüð’s ninth attempt at deconstructing records recorded and released 110+ years ago.
Each installation goes for a slightly different approach, but it's always about deconstructing the materials to the point of them becoming basic building blocks in forging something new.

The names of the original tracks are implied in track names.

For this project, we chose an inspiring idea: Ludwig Boltzmann's formula, which links entropy to the statistical probability of a system's microstates. Essentially, it speaks about the disorder and order within a system, and how they can mix.
Ludwig Boltzmann was a scientist who worked on statistics in physics. He created this famous formula: S = k. log W. It shows how entropy, which measures disorder in a system, is related to the probability of its different states.
The idea was to invite artists to create music that reflects this concept. We wanted to show how disorder and order can coexist together. It was a musical exploration to express this complex idea in a creative way.

The Headless Dolls (2007-2012) were an experimental music trio consisting of: Jared C. Balogh (R.I.P.) (Jared Balogh, Trans Atlantic Rage, Shadow Entity Wizard...) Ken Odraz (Dj Odraz, Imperial Needles) and Igor Jovanovic (Lezet, Koi Karp, Pluto's Head,Imperial Needles, Temple Minds...), heavily influenced by Mike Patton's 2000s output. They released two albums.
In 2024, Ken finished making remixes of the original songs, effectively making new compositions from the source materials.
This album is dedicated to the loving memory of our departed brother Jared (R.I.P.)

Øüð is the Igor Jovanovic’s (Lezet, Koi Karp, Pluto’s Head, Imperial Needles, Temple Minds, FiXtion, Corpseweed ...) plunderphonics project. The name is Igor’s creation which sounds like a word one would use to express displeasure and disgust .

"Listen to the new and second album by ØÜð aka Igor Jovanovic for this netlabel, and also the first of 2024. This is the Plunderphonics project of this chameleonic music producer where he works exclusively with samples from different recordings, ranging from Jurassic records up to contemporary music as intended by the glorious sound artist. On the album Mold 06, which is the second in a series that already had the first number released by the acclaimed Ukrainian label Genetic Trance, ØÜð reworked tracks that were recorded more than 110 years ago on cylinders and 78s. “Mold 05” is Øüð’s fifth attempt at deconstructing the materials recorded and released on 110+year-old cylinders and 78s.

Øüð is the Igor Jovanovic’s (Lezet, Koi Karp, Pluto’s Head, Imperial Needles, Temple Minds, FiXtion, Corpseweed ...) plunderphonics project. The name is Igor’s creation which sounds like a word one would use to express displeasure and disgust .
