V.A.-"Ancient Astronauts- The ancient music of Greece: a reappReciation" is out on 1TRACKTAPE (Greece)!!!

In 2015 the German netlabel suRRism-Phonoethics released the compilation "The Music of Ancient gReece: an appReciation".
Eight years later, as a part of "that sounds greek to me" series, 1tracktape reappReciates the same tracks in the same order, with the same copyright license. All tracks reworked by 1tracktape team including (The) Unknown Artist, DEE (aka Downer Edited Ending), melophobia (μελωφοβία) and more unknown artists!. 80min to burn a compact disk for the audio system in your car! Plus 3 more reworks as download - bonus tracks.

“”The music of ancient Greece was almost universally present in society, from marriages and funerals to religious ceremonies, theatre, folk music and the ballad-like reciting of epic poetry. It thus played an integral role in the lives of ancient Greeks. There are significant fragments of actual Greek musical notation as well as many literary references to ancient Greek music, such that some things can be known—or reasonably surmised—about what the music sounded like, the general role of music in society, the economics of music, the importance of a professional caste of musicians, etc"
(Wikipedia, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_of_ancient_Greece).
The tracks on this compilation are either covers of the remaining fragments of Ancient Greek music, or a reflection of the participating artists on the cultural legacy of Ancient Greece and an attempt to find the music of Ancient Greece in their own compositional approaches."

First compilation of "appReciation", curated by Igor Jovanovic (2015).
Second compilation of "reappReciation", curated / produced by Dimitris Tsironis (2021).

V.A.-"DODIRIMI" released with MURMURE INTEMPOREL (France)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The theme of this compilation is implied in it's title : the basic musical motif or the dominant moment of the tracks contain the 4 tones C, C#, D# and E.

In 1973 Bernstein held the first in a series of lectures entitled Unanswered Question on music phonology, exploring the idea of the universal root/monogenesis of music. The first example he gave was the CC#D#E group of notes occurring throughout many classical, modern and folk pieces. Although the lecture doesn't give an explanation of the supposedly universal nature of this occurrence, it does make us wonder whether playing around that group of notes would wake us to some universal feature of music. So the aim was to find out and play with something that is unprovenly universal and probably deeply rooted in the very existence of music.

V.A.-"Balkan Under The Radar vol. 2: The Black Wave" released with BLACK PLANET RECORDS(Serbia)!!!!!!!!!!!

We are proud to present you second yearly compilation Balkan Under the radar vol 2.!

Compilation Balkan Under The Radar vol. 2: The Black Wave has had a goal of discovering new interesting names, mainly from Serbia, but also from other former Yugoslav republics, with our residents and friends, of course. We wanted to expand our family! The most important thing is that we’ve shown there are a lot of talented people in the region, with completely different views of the world. We have also made many collaborations and new friendships. Another goal was to blend together 2 alternative currents that are often divided: bands (live) and electronic (producers), because we believe music knows no limits or boundaries and for a smart man, even mosquito is music. We managed to gather around artists from all over ex-Yugoslavia! As far as genres are concerned, the compilation is very diverse. Most of the songs are exclusively made for this compilation, and none of them were previously published. We give you this compilation for free, and in return you can share it with your friends. . This year it was supported by 3 emminent musicians, Nikola Vranjkovic, Goribor and Mizar, big thanks to them for helping establish our wave.
