"After months of preparation, the yearly regional compilation "Balkan Under The Radar" has lived to see its fifth edition. The Black Planet team proudly presents volume 5: "Under The Black Flag".

The compilations "Balkan Under The Radar" aim to discover interesting names mainly from Serbia, but also from other countries from the Ex-Yugoslavia/Balkan area, with naturally our residents and friends. We managed to unite the underworld of almost all former Yugoslav republics. Most of the tracks were done specifically for this compilation, and they were all unpublished before. This time, the compilation consists of two discs with 31 tracks from artists across the region. The first part is dedicated to live bands' music and electronic alternative projects with vocals. The second part is dedicated to experimental instrumental music and electronics and noise and experimental tracks. As for the genres - as always, the range is wide - alternative, post rock, new / dark wave, avant-garde, bass music, electronics, industrial, ambient, dnb, noise, jazz, hip hop, dub, fusion, experimental etc. "

Posle višemesečne pripreme, regionalna kompilacija Balkan Under The Radar, pod okriljem Black Planet Records-a doživela je svoje peto izdanje. Budući da je već učvrstila zvuk etikete i rezidente, ekipa sa Crne planete nam ove godine predstavlja "Under The Black Flag". Kompilacije "Balkan Under The Radar " imaju za cilj otkrivanje zanimljivih imena uglavnom iz Srbije, ali i iz ostalih zemalja sa prostora ex-yu, uz naravno naše rezidente i prijatelje. Uspeli smo da objedinimo podzemlje skoro svih bivših jugoslovenskih republika. Većina stvari je pravljeno specijalno za ovu kompilaciju, a sve su ranije neobjavljene. Ovog puta kompilacija se sastoji iz dve celine sa 31 numerom izvođača iz celog regiona. Prvi deo je posvećen sviračkim i elektronskim alternativnim projektima sa vokalima. Drugi deo je posvećen eksperimentalnoj instrumentalnoj muzici i elektronici a sadrži noise i eksperimentalne uratke. Što se tiče zastupljenosti pravaca - i ovoga put je dijapazon širok – alternativa, post rock, new/dark wave, avant garde, bass music, elektronika, industrial, ambient, dnb, noise, jazz, hip hop, dub, fusion, experimental itd.

*ABOUT THE RELEASE *

"After months of preparation, yearly regional compilation - Balkan Under The Radar, under the auspices of the Black Planet Records lived to have its third edition. Since they have already solidified the label’s sound and its residents, the Black Planet team presents us with the Antisocial Network. Compilations "Balkan Under The Radar" are aimed at discovering interesting names mainly from Serbia, but also from other countries from ex-Yugoslavia, with of course our residents and friends. We managed to unify underground from almost all of the former Yugoslav republics. Most of the stuff was brewed especially for this compilation, all of which were previously unreleased. This time compilation consists of three parts with 40 songs by artists from around the region. The first part is dedicated to the music-playing and electronic alternative projects with vocals. The second part is devoted to experimental instrumental music, hip hop and electronica. Third part is the most experimental and least pleasant to the listeners including noise and experimental. Concerning the genres - this time too it's a wide range - alternative, post-rock, new / dark wave, hc punk, grunge, electronics, industrial, ambient, noise, avant garde, jazz, bass music, hip hop, noise, experimental, etc.

We are proud to present you second yearly compilation Balkan Under the radar vol 2.!

Compilation Balkan Under The Radar vol. 2: The Black Wave has had a goal of discovering new interesting names, mainly from Serbia, but also from other former Yugoslav republics, with our residents and friends, of course. We wanted to expand our family! The most important thing is that we’ve shown there are a lot of talented people in the region, with completely different views of the world. We have also made many collaborations and new friendships. Another goal was to blend together 2 alternative currents that are often divided: bands (live) and electronic (producers), because we believe music knows no limits or boundaries and for a smart man, even mosquito is music. We managed to gather around artists from all over ex-Yugoslavia! As far as genres are concerned, the compilation is very diverse. Most of the songs are exclusively made for this compilation, and none of them were previously published. We give you this compilation for free, and in return you can share it with your friends. . This year it was supported by 3 emminent musicians, Nikola Vranjkovic, Goribor and Mizar, big thanks to them for helping establish our wave.

attach to the email one mp3 file of a one-minute (60 seconds exactly) audio work

in the email state this information:

Name of the artist
Title of the audio work
Country
Contact address (email address or website). This address will be published.

Audio works longer than one minute (60 seconds exactly) or less than 30 seconds (a half minute) will be rejected.
Audio works must be in mp3 format. All other formats will be rejected.
Send only one audio work. If you send more than one with an email all of your recordings will be rejected.
mp3s should be of the highest quality possible. 44.1 kHz, 320 kbps mp3 recommended.

Visual artworks are also being accepted. Visual art must be in jpeg format, and must not exceed 500 KB in size. All formats other than jpeg will be rejected. Send only one visual artwork.

Any and all styles, themes and content will be accepted.

These themes, styles, ideas and keywords are suggested and encouraged: mail art, postal art, correspondence art, collaboration, collage, chance process, DIY, homemade music, experimental music, electronic music, noise, field recordings, cut-ups, lo-fi, lo-tech, circuit bending, hacking, punk folk, compilation, anarcho-libertarianism, Samizdat, art of the everyday, fluxus, spoken word, spontaneous poetics, guerilla and street music, uncovering the latent potentials of the Internet for networking, cultural inclusivity and openness and interactivity.

All audio and visual artworks will be published exclusively online at the Internet Archive. As soon as I receive 60 minutes of audio material I will create a special page on the Internet Archive and will publish a volume of the project. Audio and visual works will be added to the project volumes in the order that they are received. Each time that I collect 60 minutes of audio I will publish a new volume.

ATTENTION PARTICIPANTS OF THE INTERNATIONAL EMAIL AUDIO ART PROJECT!
please collaborate with a new contact from the project for a future compilation volume!

Individuals are allowed to contribute one solo track OR one track by one of their usual groups on each volume of the project. Contributors are encouraged to make contact with other project participants. Individuals are now allowed to contribute an unlimited number of collaboration tracks with other project participants per volume. Each collab track should be with a different collaborator or set of collaborators!

This project will terminate on April 1, 2011. No contributions will be accepted after that date.

This project was created and is curated by Hal McGee: It is my fondest hope that this project will promote contact, networking, exchange of sounds and ideas among audio artists all over Planet Earth.

The Homemade Music Movement has grown from the roots of the Mail Art Movement, and in order to pay due respect and acknowledge these origins, I propose an international

EMAIL audio art project in which contributors will send to me a one-minute miniature audio work in mp3 format (plus visual works if desired) attached to an email. These works will be published together in volumes online.
